Services & pricing

The works, or just the essentials.

Every appointment is one-on-one. Prices below are starting points by size and coat — we confirm an exact quote at drop-off, before any scissors come out.

Prices open at these figures and settle once we’ve met the coat. A double-coated Pyrenees mix is not a Yorkie with ambition. Size guide: Small under 20 lbs · Medium 20–50 · Large 50–90 · Extra-Large 90+ (yes, Annabelle-sized). Puppy’s First Spa Day, under six months, is a flat $40.

How a visit goes

Most visits run one to three hours.

Almost all of it hands-on. Here is a Full Groom booked for eight o’clock, start to finish.

8:00

You come in with the dog

No hand-over at the door. They sniff the room, and we go through the cut on the table with the dog standing there.

8:20

Bath, then the loud part

Shampoo chosen for the coat and skin. We work up to the dryer rather than starting with it; a dog who says no gets towel and time.

9:30

The cut, then the small things

Breed-styled, blade decided by coat and season. Then nails, ears, eyes and pads — done last, while the dog is settled.

10:30

A text, then home

We text when your dog is about twenty minutes from done, plus thirty seconds on what we found: the warm ear, the mat behind the elbow, how long to leave it next time.

The crew

Named after the boss.

Nobody here is a stock photo. These are my dogs, on actual afternoons.

Founder & quality inspector

Tilly

Approves all bandana patterns personally. Enjoys car rides, supervised naps, and being told she’s a good girl. She is.

Annabelle, a Great Pyrenees with a thick white coat, lying across the back seat of the car
Head of de-shedding

Annabelle

Living proof the de-shed works: if we can manage her undercoat, yours is a warm-up. Sheds enough each spring to knit a second Annabelle.

Muffy

A Yorkie of strong opinions and excellent knitwear. Reminds us daily that seven pounds of dog deserves seventy pounds of pampering.

The assistant

Ask before you book.

The assistant on this site knows our hours, prices, policies and an honestly unnecessary amount about Tilly. Ask it anything.

If it doesn’t know, it says so and points you to a human — which, for a small shop, matters more than sounding clever.

Frequently asked questions

What are your hours?

Tilly's Pet Spa is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm and is closed Sunday and Monday. Last full-groom drop-off is 3pm, and last bath drop-off is 4pm.

Where are you located? Is there parking?

123 S Main St, Spring Hill, KS, 66083. Free parking directly in front.

Do you take big dogs? REALLY big dogs?

Yes. Our resident Great Pyrenees, Annabelle, is our 90-plus-pound quality benchmark. If it fits through the door, we groom it.

My dog is matted. Will you shave her?

Depends on severity — our rule is comfort first. Light matting we can brush out (up to 30 minutes). Severe matting hurts to brush, so we recommend a short fresh-start cut instead and teach you a routine so it grows back mat-free. See our Policies page for the full details.

How often should my dog be groomed?

Rule of thumb: full grooms every 4–8 weeks for coated breeds (doodles: every 4–6, trust us), baths every 2–4 weeks, nails every 3–4 weeks. Ask us for a schedule tuned to your dog's coat — it's free advice and we love giving it.

Do you express anal glands?

Externally, on request, during a bath or groom ($8). If your dog needs it done frequently or internally, that's a vet conversation.

What shampoo do you use? My dog has allergies.

Our house line is soap-free and oatmeal-based; we also stock hypoallergenic, medicated (vet-recommended), and puppy-tearless formulas. Tell us about allergies at booking, or bring your own vet-prescribed shampoo — no charge to use yours.

Can I stay and watch?

First-timers, sure — for about 10 minutes. After that, most dogs settle faster when their person isn't visible (you're too exciting). Our lobby has coffee if you'd rather wait than leave.

How do I book an appointment?

Book right in the chat on our site — tell the assistant the service and your dog's name and breed, and it will find an open time and book it for you. Or call or text (913) 914-9932. New clients should have their vet's name and rabies vaccination date ready.

Do you do breed-standard cuts?

Yes — schnauzer, poodle, cocker, westie, and more. Bring a reference photo for anything custom; our styling gallery is coming soon.

Is the AI assistant on this site a real person?

Nope — it's an AI assistant that answers from this website's information (hours, pricing, policies, and everything about Tilly, Annabelle, and Muffy). For anything it can't answer, it'll tell you to call us — it's honest like that.

How long will my dog be at the spa?

Bath & Brush appointments take about 60–90 minutes, while Full Grooms take about 2–3 hours. The spa texts when a dog is about 20 minutes from being done.

What should I bring for my dog's first visit?

Bring proof of rabies vaccination, your dog on a leash or in a carrier for very small dogs, and a reference photo for any desired haircut.

Do you groom cats?

No. Tilly's Pet Spa is a dogs-only spa and can refer clients to a feline grooming specialist.

Can you handle nervous dogs?

Yes. The spa schedules extra time at no charge for nervous dogs, uses breaks and treats, and may suggest a free 10-minute happy visit for very anxious pups.

How far in advance should I book?

We're usually booked 1–2 weeks out, and Saturdays fill fastest. Book anytime right here in the chat, or call (913) 914-9932. If you need something sooner, ask — cancellations happen, and we keep a short waitlist.

Do you take walk-ins?

For nail trims, yes — walk in during business hours. Baths and grooms are by appointment so every dog gets our full attention.

Do I need to book a specific groomer?

You can request one, and we'll do our best. Regulars often stick with the same groomer because dogs relax faster with a familiar face

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We ask for 24 hours' notice so another pup can have the spot. Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be charged a fee.

Policies, in brief

Vaccinations
All dogs must be current on rabies vaccination; we recommend (but don’t require) DHPP and Bordetella. Bring proof to your first visit or email it ahead — we keep it on file after that.
Booking & cancellation
Cancel or reschedule 24 hours ahead at no charge. Inside 24 hours, a $20 fee applies to the next visit. No-shows are charged 50% of the booked service.
Running late
We hold your slot for 15 minutes. After that we may need to shorten the service or rebook, because the next dog deserves their full appointment too.
Pick-up
We text when your dog is about 20 minutes from done. Please pick up within 30 minutes of that text — we’re a small spa without boarding space. Late pick-up beyond an hour adds $1/minute.
Matted coats — the humane-first rule
Light matting: we dematt up to 30 minutes ($1.50/min) if your dog stays comfortable. Severe matting: brushing it out hurts, so we won’t — we’ll recommend a short “fresh start” shave-down instead and show you a brushing routine so it never happens again. No judgment; it happens to the best of us.
Behavior & safety
We’re patient with nervous dogs and schedule extra time free for them. If a dog is too stressed or reactive to groom safely, we’ll stop, charge only for what was completed, and talk options. Dogs with a bite history: call us first and we’ll decide together honestly.
Senior dogs & health
Seniors get shorter sessions, extra breaks and non-slip support. Tell us about heart conditions, seizures or joint issues at booking. If we spot anything concerning — lumps, skin issues, ear infections — we’ll point it out. We’re not vets, but we’re a good early-warning system.
Fleas
If we find fleas we’ll call you, add the flea shampoo upgrade ($12) and carry on, then sanitize the studio. No shame, but the upgrade is mandatory in that case to protect the next client.
Payment
Card, cash, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Gratuity is never expected and always appreciated. Prices are confirmed at drop-off before work begins — no surprise totals at pick-up.
